Kelmscott Playgroup is a not-for-profit organisation run by a voluntary parent committee.

We operate at the Riverdale Community Centre, in Kelmscott and our excellent rented premises contain child-appropriate equipment (including toilet facilities) and amenities, which include air-conditioning, covered play areas and all-weather surfaces

Playleader

At Kelmscott Playgroup we try to provide a stimulating play experience for children from 0 – 5 years of age, with the assistance of our Playleader.

Family interaction

Kelmscott Playgroup is designed so parents/carers can interact with their children and participate in activities together, away from the normal chores and distractions of home.

Age appropriate activities

Kelmscott Playgroup offers a variety of age-appropriate activities, which focus on the children’s physical, social and intellectual development. The end of each session consists of interactive experiences. A large variety of toys are available to encourage play and stimulate imagination.

The focus of each session is on the children’s physical and intellectual development with different art and craft experiences offered each week. These may include painting, cutting, glueing, play dough, construction and loads more. We also have “Mat” time where the children are invited to listen to a story, watch a puppet show, dance to music or join in with singing and musical instruments. Some weeks revolve around a theme and there is also plenty of inside and outside play equipment for all to enjoy. During the warmer months we have “Water Play”, therefore, a change of clothes is recommended.

Joining

New members are always welcome. We have a simple registration process. Your first session is free, if you come and do happen to decide you don't wish to continue, that's fine (or you might decide to come back another time, but that’s fine too).

STEP 1: Contact our Enrolment Officer

If you have decided you would like to enrol, firstly contact our Enrolment Officer and confirm the day you would like to attend. They will be able to advise which days we have vacancies.

  STEP 2: Complete Form

Complete the Enrolment Form (attached below) and hand it to our Play Leader or Group Rep on your first day.

  STEP 3: Paying Fees

Kelmscott Playgroup is non-profit, therefore we rely on fees to help keep running. Our fees ensure we can keep our Play Leader as well as covering our rent. Unfortunately, we cannot get any government grants for assistance. All fees are due prior to the fourth enrolled session at Kelmscott Playgroup.
Fee charges per family are as follows:

  • $50 per term per family
  • Compulsory Playgroup WA Membership (includes Insurance): $35 per year
  • Playgroup WA Membership with pension/health care card: $15 per year.
Payments can be made via cash, cheque (Payable to Kelmscott Playgroup Inc.) or Direct Deposit.
